    TRACY, CA - Sandra Cantu was last seen at 4 p.m. Friday, March 27,2009 and the official search began at 8:15 p.m., police said. She was supposed to be at a friend's house in the Orchard Estates mobile home park, where she lives, but she wasn't found there.

    Sandra was found April 6, 2009 deceased, stuffed inside a black suitcase just two miles from her home. Sunday school teacher Melissa Huckaby was arrested for her murder.

    SATSUMA, FL. Authorities are searching for a 5-year-old north Florida girl who went missing from her bed.

    A Florida Amber Alert was issued for Haleigh Cummings. The Satsuma girl was last seen Monday night (2/9/09) when she went to bed.

    Investigators with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office say it's not clear if Haleigh was abducted. The trailer where she lives had no signs of forced entry but a back door was ajar.

    Haleigh's father says the blonde girl was missing when he returned home from work around 3 a.m. Tuesday. Ronald Cummings says his girlfriend was awake and frantic that Haleigh was missing from her bed.

  • Forum locked Cyndi Vanderheiden Investigation
    Cyndi Vanderheiden, a resident of Clements, California, disappeared from in front of her family's home November, 1998. Both Wesley Howard Shermantine and Loren Joseph Herzog, were charged with her murder. Combined both men are accused of six unsolved murders - drifters Howard King and Paul Raymond Cavanaugh, whose bodies were found shot to death in a car off a remote road on Roberts Island on Nov. 27, 1984. Henry Howell, of Santa Clara, who was shot dead on Highway 88 near Hope Valley in September 1984 and the September 1985 murder of Robin Armtrout, 24, whose nude body was found stabbed nearly a dozen times on the east bank of Potter Creek near Linden. Shermantine was charged individually in the death of 16-year-old Chevelle "Chevy" Wheeler, who disappeared in 1985 while skipping school at Franklin High School and whose remains are still missing. Shermantine was suspected in Wheeler's death for a decade, but was not arrested until 1999 when DNA tests revealed blood found in his home was hers.

    Murdered: Wheeler was last seen entering a red pickup truck outside of Franklin High School in Stockton, California on October 16, 1985. She told friends that she planned to skip classes that day and drive to Valley Springs, California with a male friend. Wheeler has never been seen again.
    Authorities soon learned the possible identity of her friend; Wesley Howard Shermantine was an acquaintance of Wheeler's family. Shermantine and Loren Joseph Herzog were arrested in 1999 for numerous murders in the western United States, including the presumed killings of Wheeler and another missing woman, Cyndi Vanderheiden.
    Shermantine announced he would reveal the locations of two of the missing victims if authorities gave $20,000 in reward money to his sons. Prosecutors offered to drop the death penalty from Shermantine's sentence if he is convicted of the crimes, but he demanded the reward money instead. The offer was not accepted and Shermantine was convicted of the murders of Wheeler, Vanderheiden and two other individuals in May 2001. Shermantine was sentenced to death for the crimes.
